Transportation Assistance

Helping Individuals Safely Access Care and Essential Services

For many people living with epilepsy, driving is not always safe or permitted due to seizure activity or medical restrictions. This can make attending medical appointments, picking up prescriptions, or handling essential errands extremely difficult. The Transportation Assistance Initiative exists to help remove this barrier by providing safe, reliable transportation support when it is most needed.

What This Initiative Provides

Through this initiative, Angels of Epilepsy offers:

  • Uber or Lyft transportation vouchers, typically valued at $25

  • Support for transportation to:

    • Medical appointments

    • Pharmacy visits

    • Other essential, seizure-related needs

Transportation assistance is intended for short-term or situational support and is provided based on available funding.

Who This Initiative Is For

This initiative is designed to support:

  • Individuals living with epilepsy or seizure disorders

  • Survivors who are temporarily or permanently unable to drive

  • Families and caregivers seeking safe transportation options for a loved one

All requests are reviewed individually, based on need and available resources.

Important Information

  • Assistance is subject to funding availability

  • Transportation support is typically provided as a $25 Uber or Lyft voucher

  • A waiting list may apply depending on demand

  • Submitting a request does not guarantee immediate assistance

AOE strives to distribute transportation support fairly and responsibly.

Why This Matters

Transportation barriers can delay care, increase stress, and put individuals at risk of unmanaged seizures.

Providing safe access to medical services helps promote stability, independence, and overall well-being for people living with epilepsy.

This initiative reflects AOE’s commitment to removing everyday obstacles that impact quality of life.

How to Request Support

If you are unable to drive due to seizures and need assistance getting to an essential appointment or service, you may submit a request through our support intake form.

This allows AOE to understand your transportation needs and distribute vouchers as equitably as possible.
